THE STORY OF RESH

THE STORY OF RESH

Amid the hustle of daily life, we rarely pause, reflect, and reconnect with our artistic roots. The rich cultural heritage of various Indian states is being overshadowed in the rapid development of today’s age. Beginning with Himachal Pradesh, Resh aims to uplift and empower these communities, ultimately preserving their heritage.

Resh was founded in 2022 and debuted with an incredible experience in Chalal village, where participants embraced the local lifestyle. Following its success, the Art Camps continued the journey, with camps in Chamba, Kasol, and Dharamkot, and a community project in Kundi village along with multiple workshops.

Artists from all genres form a part of Resh, fostering idea exchange and diverse perspectives. Through Artist Residencies and Art Camps, they escape daily stress, and enjoy a slower, organic life. They reconnect with their roots, refuel their creativity, and try to make a meaningful impact. Local artisans gain invaluable opportunities, receiving well-deserved recognition and the chance to showcase their work on a global stage.

Art students and non-artists are integral to Resh, bringing fresh perspectives and boundless enthusiasm. Their curiosity and untapped potential contribute to exploring new dimensions of traditional crafts. Together, they help preserve heritage while inspiring innovation in artistic expression.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Resh may have taken shape a few years ago, but its roots were planted much earlier. The journey began with Tanvi Pujari, the founder, arriving in Mumbai with an ambitious dream to create a lasting legacy. With a natural flair for creativity, Tanvi’s passions spanned art, dance, music, fashion, and more, laying the foundation for what Resh would become.

Tanvi earned her bachelor’s degree from the prestigious Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai followed by a master’s in Fine Arts from MIT, Pune. Her decade of professional experience in the art industry vastly broadened her horizons. Over time, her fascination with the profound connection between nature and art only deepened.

Answering the call of the mountains, Tanvi set out to explore the hidden corners of India. She uncovered artist communities with an incredible legacy of local craft. Driven by compassion and a desire to make a meaningful impact, she created Resh. A platform to bridge tradition with a brighter future.

In 2024, Tanvi was felicitated by the Tourism Department of Himachal Pradesh for her painstaking efforts to preserve the state’s rich culture.

VISION

Resh envisions a world where traditional art forms are preserved, celebrated, and seamlessly integrated with contemporary expressions. By promoting diverse artistic traditions across Indian states and collaborating with global communities, we plan to showcase the richness of Indian heritage on an international stage. Our vision extends beyond preservation- we strive to empower artisans through self-sustaining initiatives, ensuring that their crafts not only survive but thrive. By blending tradition with innovation, Resh fosters cultural growth, bridging the past and present to create a future where art remains a powerful force for community development.

MISSION

At Resh, we are dedicated to uplifting and empowering artists by promoting both indigenous and modern art. Through art camps, residencies, and educational workshops, we create opportunities for artists to explore, learn, and grow. Our efforts bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary art, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and perspectives. By helping local communities sustain their cultural heritage and recognize its value, we enable artisans to transform their crafts into sustainable sources of income. Our mission extends globally, building an interconnected art community that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and cultural preservation.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

COLLABORATION WITH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Resh has an ongoing collaboration with the renowned Sir J. J. School of Art to bridge traditional and modern art forms. Master’s students, with their expertise and creativity, contribute to complex community initiatives while discovering new occupational opportunities beyond urban landscapes. These immersive experiences offer fresh perspectives and inspiration for their future work.

Resh is open to collaborating with institutes from diverse fields such as art, architecture, agriculture, and so on, to encourage students to work on impactful projects. Through these partnerships, students gain hands-on experience in rural communities, thus merging heritage with innovation.

Through Resh’s community initiatives, local artisans are empowered by refining traditional crafts into marketable products. It ensures cultural preservation, economic growth, and a thriving creative ecosystem. Resh is hoping to create a meaningful impact in different regions of India, and gradually extend their initiatives to a global level.

COLLABORATIONS WITH GOVERNMENT BODIES AND LOCAL NGOS

In 2024, following the success of our first community project, Resh’s efforts made a breakthrough. They garnered heartfelt appreciation from the Tourism Head and government officials of Chamba on World Tourism Day. Our founder, Tanvi, was felicitated for Resh’s impactful contributions to the welfare of Chamba’s art community and the preservation of its rich heritage.

Recognizing the potential of Resh’s initiatives, the government expressed interest in future collaborations with Resh. Further, the local NGOs in the region also reached out to work with us to work on our mutual goal of village development and the promotion of art and culture in the region. These discussions mark a significant step toward sustainable growth and cultural preservation.

At Resh, we welcome the support of organizations and individuals across India and beyond. Whether through sponsorships, funding or volunteering, every contribution helps strengthen our mission. Together, we can create a lasting impact on artistic communities and heritage preservation.
